Our client is an entrepreneurial food brand who produce innovative products for health-conscious consumers. They have quickly become a market a leader in their category and are now expanding into new categories. To help drive the brand and business forward they are looking for a confident and highly capable Senior Project Manager to join the Product Team.
The Role
You will be reporting to Head of Product and will play a key role in the collaborative, innovative and ambitious Product team. You will be required to brilliantly plan, manage and successfully deliver NPD projects from start to finish whilst effectively influencing, briefing and coordinating people cross-functionally at all levels to ensure clarity and alignment across project portfolio activity. This will involve building close working relationships with customers and manufacturing partners.
You will own and manage Branded and Own Label Stage & Gate process which will involve generating the overall project timeline whilst creating and managing critical paths from ideation to product launch. You’ll track progress, ensure actions required by stakeholders are completed on schedule and diligently manage any risks before they become an issue. You’ll also take responsibility for the management and maintenance of the NPD systems and processes, ensuring you are fully conversant with SKU optimisation for all phase-in and phase-out activities.
The Person
This role will suit confident and driven NPD Project Manager with outstanding influencing skills and a track record of leading and delivering significant NPD projects within the food industry. You will be a natural communicator with an ability to effectively manage and influence key stakeholders, building strong working relationships. With a persistence to achieve objectives, you think creatively and strategically in order to see the broader business and commercial context as well as effectively solve problems on your own initiative.
You will also need to be adept at leading meetings with senior management, manufacturers and customers in order to strengthen networks and partnerships. You’ll be skilled at translating vison and strategy into viable activities and business success. You set the pace and take personal ownership of projects, using intuition and sound judgement to analyse and resolve any issues.
A project management qualification would be desirable but it is essential that you understand the NPD product lifecycle and have managed projects from concept to launch in a fast paced environment.
