An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 6 Occupational Therapist in mental health to join a dynamic and creative team. The post is in our established Acute Therapy Service (ATS) based in Preston.
The duties will include consideration of referrals, assessment of risk, formulation and care planning for individuals attending ATS who present with complex need and emotional dysregulation, focusing on those service users with occupational needs. The post holder will be expected to deliver OT specific group sessions and 1:1 assessment of occupational need. There is also an expectation that the post holder will contribute to the daily functioning of the ATS service; receiving referrals, completing first and last day assessments, and documenting daily meetings with service users.
The post holder supports the delivery of the structured ATS program and will be based in Preston’s Acute Therapy Service (ATS) delivering evidence based group and 1:1 skills training.
The post holder will deliver a range of individual and group interventions drawn from relevant frames of reference, demonstrating sophisticated clinical reasoning skills. They will prioritise planning and delivering interventions for people whose mental health problems have a marked impact on their occupational functioning and who have complex occupational needs.
