Senior Occupational Therapists (x 2)

This post includes 7 days or weekend working ( this means you will be required to work one in every four weekends with days off during the week)
We are currently recruiting
A plethora of dynamic and self-sufficient Senior Occupational Therapists to work within the Intermediate Care Allocation Team at Lancashire County Council.

You will be part of our ongoing development to expand our services, providing valuable support and guidance to our teams with your knowledge of hospital discharge and Intermediate Care System. By using your specialist therapeutic skills, you will become an integral part of clients journeys to independence, providing the tools they need to progress to a happier, healthier way of life. Working alongside integrated teams of professionals from Health Social Care, Housing and voluntary sectors, you will form a seamless level of care and understanding developing beneficial working relationships with colleagues and clients. What we are looking for
Passion - you will have passion and commitment in facilitating freedom and liberty for individuals who need to readjust to life after hospitalisation or crisis at home - we want you to provide a superior level of support when it comes to restoring confidence for our clients, allowing them to regain their zest for life and ability to live happily and safely in their own homes - you will take a lead role within the team administering specialist support and enabling your team to blossom and develop - as a Senior OT you will be working with more complex cases, therefore your approachable and sympathetic nature will need to shine through - it is crucial that you put the client at the forefront of everything you do, ensuring you liaise with the necessary professionals to provide the best possible care
Challenge - you will be challenged on a daily basis, dealing with competing responsibilities and finding the right balance between various tasks - your self-motivation and determination will allow you to breeze through the day, remaining flexible and decisive - you must be able to delegate work effectively and be hands on with your managerial approach, keeping in mind the development of your team with constructive and worthwhile supervision - you will support with the triaging of clients and the rehabilitation process as well as undertaking risk assessment within the home environment - as well as looking after your team and clients, you will be a project lead and assist in change management, supporting the service lead in future developments
Critical Thinking - we want you to think outside the box and be a key problem solver by always being solution focused and striving for improvements where possible - you will have an exceptional understanding of what role OT plays within social care, knowing what level of support and skills are required for each individual - we want you to use your intuition and methodical attributes when it comes to investigating and reporting on incidents or 'near misses' to ensure transparency - you will be able to clearly identify and articulate any findings and use them as learning opportunities to improve upon for the future
Whilst these posts are listed as Senior Occupational Therapists at Grade 9, in some circumstances we are happy to consider Grade 8 Occupational Therapists taking these posts. We therefore encourage all levels of Practitioners to apply. If you meet the Person Specification for Grade 9 we can commence your employment with us on that scale, or offer you on Grade 8 position if more appropriate.
