Senior Operations Technician

Location: Home based with significant travel to our sites based predominantly across East Yorkshire, East Lincolnshire and Norfolk

Salary: £35-£45k, plus discretionary bonus

Job Type: Full time

Holidays: 20 plus 8 Bank Holidays

AlphaGen Renewables niche and principal focus is the continued exploitation of landfill gas on sites which may be closed, with lower gas yields, or smaller operational landfills.

Senior Operations Technician – The Role:

For this we are seeking an experienced and dynamic Senior Operations Technician who can work on their own initiative to keep the portfolio of generators efficiently maintained and maximise their up time.

The role includes routine minor and major maintenance, trouble shooting and fault rectification of all AlphaGen Renewables assets of landfill gas engines, gas plants and gas fields and their associated systems.

The role includes monitoring the delivery from all sites, which is mostly carried out remotely via the internet, and attending shutdowns as required.

The Senior Operations Technician will ensure that the General Manager is aware of key issues and events affecting the business, recognise and highlight new business opportunities and support their development and installation.

Working from home, ideally based between our current sites travel to facilities across the UK is expected with overnight hotel accommodation provided.

Senior Operations Technician – You:

Qualifications and/or demonstrable experience in the following:

- Engine maintenance and overhaul

- Gas engine and flare control systems. Comap control experience/literacy preferred

- Electrical systems related to power generation and fixed plant installations

- Maintenance of rotating machinery, ie gas blowers

- Work on ATEX rated equipment and knowledge of DSEAR regulations

- Knowledge of landfill gas field monitoring and balancing preferred

- Ability to troubleshoot the above systems

- Experience of Renewables and the demands of the industry and regulators preferred

- Working knowledge of Auto CAD

- Training will be provided for some of these aspects for the right candidate

- You will also be a team player able to work independently, alone and under your own initiative but know when to involve others

- To be able to work within agreed timescales and budgets

- Good interpersonal skills

- Good organisational skills

- Trustworthy and professional

- Reliable and dependable

- Full driving licence and be prepared to travel frequently with overnight stays
