This role has a starting salary of £31,262 per annum, based on a 36 hour working week.
We are excited to be hiring a new Senior Outdoor Learning Instructor (Outreach and Training) to join our fantastic team! The Outreach and Training team is part of Surrey Outdoor Learning and Development (SOLD)'s provision. Working with our customers in school grounds, at SOLD centres and other sites such as countryside spaces and local parks, in and around Surrey.

About the Team
At Surrey Outdoor Learning and Development (SOLD) we pride ourselves on delivering exceptional Outdoor Learning programs that inspire and engage both young people and adults alike. Our mission is to enrich personal and social development, elevate achievement and foster aspirations in life.
About the Role
This is fantastic dual role in the co-ordinating, delivery and development of outreach Outdoor Learning programmes and teacher CPD. Working closely with our customers, this role provides support, advice and guidance for schools and teachers, as well as designing and facilitating high quality outreach Outdoor Learning for Primary, Secondary and SEN schools.
Shortlisting Criteria
To be considered for shortlisting for this position, your application will clearly evidence the following:
- At least 3 National Governing Body/ Professional Outdoor Instructor Qualifications (one at Senior level) and committed to continuous professional development.
- Understanding of training and professional development opportunities available to support teachers in developing Outdoor Learning in a school setting
- Understanding of good practice in the delivery and development of Outdoor Learning, and knowledge of evaluation and evidence collection in order to justify the value of learning in a school setting.
- Substantial experience of face to face delivery and supervision of bespoke Outdoor Learning programmes to groups of children and young people with a range of needs and capabilities.
- Experience of delivering and inspiring others to deliver Outdoor Learning experiences in school grounds.
- Ability to deal with challenging situations in a calm professional manner and a positive and adaptable attitude to overcoming challenges.
- Experience of project management, and managerial supervision of staff, including delivering and evaluating staff training and development.
