Job description

Senior Parking Contracts and Systems Officer RBKC615162

Job Summary:

Salary range: £49,854 - £56,565 per annum

Work location: London

Hours per week: 36

Contract type: Permanent

Closing date: 21st April 2024

Interview date: Week commencing 6th May 2024

About Us:

Ensure parking provision supports our wider goals for safer, greener streets.

In Kensington and Chelsea, we’re committed to creating cleaner, greener and safer streets that meet the needs of residents, businesses, and visitors alike. Efficient parking provision and parking enforcement play a key role in this commitment – improving transportation and air quality. We deliver high-profile and high-value services, using front-line and back-office systems that are delivered by a range of contractors.

The Role:

In this fast-moving role, you will manage and monitor a range of parking service contracts, ensuring they are efficient, effective and provide good value for money. This covers parking enforcement, pay-to-park, and other parking support activities relating to special events in the Borough such as the Notting Hill Carnival. At the same time, you will lead on improvement and development initiatives, including advances in parking-related information technology. You will also be responsible for data analysis and management information reporting, with the support of a business analytics specialist.

This is a hybrid role where, for at least 50% of contracted hours, you will be based at a Council workplace in central London in a team situation that ensures adequate coverage during the full working week.

Please refer to the Job Description for more information

About You:

You’re likely to have some experience in contract management, ideally in the field of parking services as you will need to understand relevant traffic legislation. Project management experience is also important as you will be expected to oversee a wide portfolio of contracts, often working to tight timelines. While utilising data to inform contract management decisions, you will also need strong communication and negotiation skills to move contracts forward. The ability to present information persuasively and communicate with a wide range of people, from councillors and senior managers to residents, is key to your success.  As you’ll be expected to produce reports, proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word is vital.

In return, you can look forward to a package that includes a competitive salary, a high-quality pension scheme and generous annual leave plus bank holidays.

Please apply online explaining how you meet the requirements set out in the person specification and job description. CV’s will not be considered for this role.

Please do not upload any documents, including CVs/Covering Letters or supporting statements, as these documents will not be reviewed and could result in your application not being shortlisted.
