Job description

Are you a payroll pundit, a guru on Auto Enrolments through to SSP’s? Have you experience of working on multiple or high-volume payroll runs?

We are delighted to be assisting our client, a well-known professional organisation with offices across Cambridgeshire, to recruit for a payroll expert to take up the newly formed post of Senior Payroll Administrator.

Working alongside the Payroll junior – who you will be responsible for mentoring - you will jointly manage a range of businesses, guaranteeing the timely and accurate processing of their payroll runs and reporting of client payroll data.

Responsibilities will be:
• Perform all monthly payroll entries into the payroll systems and produce related reports, ensuring accuracy of salary, overtime, and bonuses where applicable.
• Accurate and timely submission of monthly/fortnightly/weekly RTI returns to HMRC dependent on client requirement.
• Production and upload of pension reports to relevant pension provider, always ensuring accuracy and compliance.
• Maintain and develop relationships with clients.
• Uphold records to ensure accurate and timely billing for payroll services.
• Process payroll year end and ensure accurate and timely year end submissions.
• Provide support with the preparation of annual P11D’s.
• Be available to give assistance to the payroll junior regarding client queries and have ownership of allocating work.
• Act as primary contact to provide advice and guidance on payroll and pension related issues to clients and colleagues.

This is a crucial role in the business. You will receive an attractive remuneration, and the firm operates a flexible working policy of 2 days at home once you have established knowledge of their processes and procedures. You will also be able to benefit from flexible working hours, with core time worked, starting and finishing late or early.
We are looking for those who have experience in either a payroll bureau or accountancy practice, or even a larger company where there are multiple payrolls.
Due to the level of importance we are looking for applicants who are –
• Highly numerate with strong attention to detail.
• Exceptionally organised with excellent attention to details and able to prioritise work within defined timelines.
• Have a flexible working approach to accommodate essential monthly tasks at key times.
• Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills and an ability to build rapport both internally and with external clients.

Apply now if you possess the experience required or contact Natalie Harden at Reed.
