Job description

When a child is diagnosed with cancer life becomes full of fear, for them and their family. Fear of treatment, but also of families being torn apart, overwhelming money worries, of having nowhere to turn, no one to talk to.
At Young Lives vs Cancer, we help children and young people (0-25) and their families find the strength to face whatever cancer throws at them. Join us and your skills will make a real difference to the lives of young cancer patients.
About the role
This role is crucial to the delivery of a significant change in growth of the philanthropy programme. The post holder will be expected to deliver on a portfolio and move prospects forward in a timely manner.
To actively fundraise from a portfolio of individual major donor prospects and donors for Young Lives vs Cancer’s work around the UK, with responsibility for financial targets to be agreed. To build effective and long-lasting relationships with individuals, with a view to engaging them with Young Lives vs Cancer in order to raise funds.
This role will work across teams to maximise fundraising and engagement opportunities and to deliver a first class giving experience to every individual giving over £10k.
Young Lives vs Cancer is open to and in support of flexible working. Your flexibility requirements and that of the role will be discussed at interview stage with you.
This role is part home, part office based. You will have the opportunity to work from home within the parameters of our hybrid working arrangements, with 2 days a week in the Bristol/London office.
We would love to hear from you if you have/are:
Proven track record of personally securing 6 figure major gifts from individuals in a charity environment to meet agreed targets.
Proven experience of managing and developing relationships with wealthy and / or influential individuals and senior volunteers, inspiring and motivating them to meet objectives as per their solicitation plans.
Knowledge and hands-on experience of major gift fundraising.
Articulate, persuasive and credible with all audiences, including those at the highest level both within the organisation and outside of it.
