Hours: Monday - Friday, 08.30 - 16.30
Pay rate: £21.80
Length: 3 months
Coventry and Warwickshire Partnership NHS trust are currently seeking organised and motivated candidates to fulfil physiotherapist opportunities within the team at either St Michael's and/or the Cauldon Centre under a long-term placement contract. The post holder will be working within an acute mental health service (adult, older adult, and dementia) providing physiotherapy's assessments, interventions and or MDT recommendations. They will work under the direction and clinical supervision of two highly experienced physiotherapists; there are also two TIs within the Team.
The candidates must be able to provide a variety of evidence-based physiotherapy. Experience in any of the following areas would be advantageous:
- MSK
- Old age
- Orthopaedics
- Neurology
- Women's health
- Mental Health
- Dementia
- Learning Difficulties
- Substance misuse
Role Details:
- To assess and identify the individual needs of patients, to clinically diagnose and implement treatment plans if appropriate in a manner that respects people's privacy, dignity, and individuality
- To formulate and deliver an individualised physiotherapy treatment programme, including manual therapy techniques, therapeutic handling, patient education, provision of exercise (individual/group), and other alternative options
- To record and report findings appropriately following the standard procedures used by the department to maintain high levels of written/verbal communication
- To assist Clinical Therapy Manager/Team Leader in service development and the provision of a quality service
- To take responsibility for junior members of staff and delegate duties as necessary, always providing appropriate level of support
- To be responsible for maintaining own competency and self-development
The Successful Candidate Will:
- Hold a Degree in Physiotherapy or equivalent
- Be HCPC registered
- Have a full UK driving licence and access to a car
- Have previous NHS experience
- Be able to work with individuals who have a combination of physical and mental health needs
- Practice in accordance with the professional, ethical, and legal codes of the Health & Care Professions Council (HCPC), and Trust and NHS protocols and guidelines
