My client is seeking an ambitious and motivated Senior Planner to join their Birmingham team. The successful candidate will play a key role in managing and delivering a variety of planning projects, providing expert advice to client, and contributing to the growth and success of the consultancy.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage complex planning projects from inception to completion.
- Provide professional planning advice to clients, stakeholders, and colleagues.
- Prepare and submit planning applications and appeals.
- Conduct site appraisals, research, and feasibility studies.
- Liaise with local authorities, regulatory bodies, and other stakeholders.
- Mentor and support junior planning staff.
- Stay updated with the latest planning policies, regulations, and best practices.
- Represent the company at public meetings, hearings, and inquiries.
Requirements:
- A degree in Town Planning or a related discipline.
- Chartered Member of the Royal Town Planning Institute (MRTPI) or working towards it.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a planning role, preferably within a consultancy environment.
- Strong knowledge of UK planning legislation and regulations.
- Excellent project management and organizational skills.
- Strong analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in planning software and Microsoft Office Suite
