Senior Planner

A Suffolk based LPA are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Planning Officer to join their team on a 3-month contract basis, with the possibility of extension. This is a fantastic opportunity to work on a mixed caseload of applications, including complex minor applications and residential applications (up to 25 units), in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

• Manage a caseload of planning applications, including preparing reports, negotiating with applicants and making recommendations.
• Offer professional planning advice to internal and external stakeholders on a wide range of planning and development issues.
• Provide support and guidance to junior members of the team as required.

Requirements:

• A degree in Town Planning or a related field
• Significant experience in a similar role, with a proven track record of managing a caseload of planning applications.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and report writing skills.
• Ability to work independently, with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.

• Up to £45/hour pay rate, depending on experience.
