Job Title: Senior Planning & Governance Manager

Contract Type: Permanent

Location: Edinburgh or Alderley Edge

Working style: Hybrid 50% home/office based

Closing date: 23rd January 2024

 

Within the RLG UK business, we have c.6 million policies (spread across pension, protection, savings & investment, and annuity products) that belong to our Long Standing Customers (LSC). These customers play a central role in RLG's success and the ability to achieve our Purpose whilst delivering our strategy. We support the long-term financial resilience of our long-standing customers, many of whom are vulnerable, by ensuring excellent service and positive outcomes.

 

The Senior Planning & Governance Manager Long Standing Customer has responsibility for the planning and governance framework for the LSC propositions, ensuring that resources are aligned to key propositional activity, supporting good customer outcomes in line with Consumer Duty. A key part of this role is supporting the Head of Proposition LSC in terms of preparing governance papers and ensuring there is a defined control framework for all LSC propositions.

 

This role is an exciting opportunity to play a key part in driving and shaping the outcomes delivered for our long standing customers.

 

About the role

 

  • Responsible for LSC Proposition Governance Forum Reporting & Submission, includes LSC Executive Committee and UK Proposition Committee.
  • Ensures there is an effective, robust risk and control framework for LSC Propositions ensuring risks are mitigated in line with risk appetite.
  • Provides strategic direction and represents LSC on key governance forums across the business.
  • Ensures dissemination and adherence of key policies to the team e.g. tax policy.
  • Collaborates with other supporting business areas to ensure that LSC operational processes and customer communications comply with Tax and product rules.
  • Responsible for Business Continuity Plans & Resilience Testing, along with required Business Controls alignment and testing.

 

About you

 

  • Ability to influence at a senior level, based on solid understanding of products, strategy and business direction, and an excellent communicator who can create partnership relationships with key business functions.
  • Demonstrable planning skills including management of key dependencies.
  • Strong focus on delivery with proven experience of working with stakeholders to agree priorities, secure and align resource.
  • Understanding of financial services industry and products and the associated legislative/regulatory frameworks.
  • Expertise of championing the end consumer and an understanding of great customer outcomes.
  • Ability to work independently without direct supervision.
  • Excellent attention to detail, organisational and time management skills.
  • Can inspire others to adapt to change / show positive attitude to change.
