- Hourly Rate: £23.55 per hour
- Location: Mossley Mill
- Hours of Work: 37 hrs per week, Monday to Friday 9.00am - 5.00pm
- Holidays: 34 days pro rata

Duties:
- You will support the Head of Planning, Development Management in meeting all statutory requirements and ensuring effective performance management in the area of work assigned.
- Responsible for the day to day management, leadership and development of Planning Officers, Planning Assistants and any technical support staff in the area of work assigned through the provision of guidance and advice on relevant planning and technical issues.
Criteria
- Degree in a recognised planning qualification *or equivalent and a minimum of three years’ experience of working in Development Management role.
OR
- HNC/HND/BTEC Higher National Certificate in Planning, Surveying and Cartography
OR
- BTEC Higher National Certificate in Land Administration (Planning)
OR
- equivalent qualification and a minimum of four years’ experience of working in a Development Management role.
AND
- A minimum of two years’ relevant experience of managing staff in accordance with the principles of performance management and personal development
AND
- Current member of the Royal Town Planning Institute/Irish Planning Institute or equivalent
- Ability to set clear objectives and targets and plan and review activities
- Ability to prioritise and manage own work and the work of others
- Strong organisational skills
- Effective communication skills
- Ability to lead, motivate and develop partnerships and individuals as appropriate
- Awareness of issues facing Local Government with respect to Planning
- Knowledge of relevant Northern Ireland Planning Policy and Legislation.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Windows applications.
- A full current driving licence or, if a disability prevents driving, access to a suitable form of transport to enable the duties of the post to be carried out in full
- As part of the reference checking and vetting process for this position you will be requested to undertake a Basic AccessNI Disclosure. Having a criminal record will not necessarily be a bar to obtaining a position.
