Job description

Murray McIntosh is delighted to be working once again with RenewableUK, a leading national trade association in the renewable energy sector, who are seeking a dynamic Senior Policy Analyst or Manager to join their hardworking Future Electricity Systems team.

The FES team works across a number of key issues pertaining to the planning and deployment of renewable energy within UK energy systems. One particular area of focus is Green Hydrogen and floating offshore wind, which this position with look after. Working closely with Director of FES, Head of Policy and wider organisation, the post holder will look to help lead and support RenewableUK's work shaping the future of renewable energy in the UK.


As a Senior Policy Analyst/Manager, you will:

  • Develop Green Hydrogen and floating wind expertise, both personally and for the wider organisation.
  • Lead work streams, manage committees and industry working groups, and respond to government consultations.
  • Produce high-quality reports and collaborate with internal teams for a cohesive policy approach.
  • Understand political contexts to enhance campaigns.
  • Identify and engage with key stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with the Public Affairs team for effective engagement programs.
  • Engage with members and build a network of sector stakeholders including in DESNZ and the wider membership.
  • Contribute to papers and reports focused on the above subjects, as well as the future of the energy system.
    • If you have demonstrable project management experience, you may be offered the opportunity to take on responsibility for the future of the energy system work.

They are looking for someone with:

  • Relevant policy expertise in energy, power or renewables.
  • Demonstrable experience in policy advocacy and stakeholder engagement.
  • Demonstrable understanding of UK environment regulation and/or energy issues.
  • Educated to degree level in a related field, or a similar level of work experience.
  • Quick comprehension of complex policy information.
  • Pioneering mindset, flexibility, and excellent communication skills.
  • Strong organisational and project management skills.

RenewableUK operates a hybrid working environment from their office in Covent Garden, meeting as a team when required with a minimum of 2 days a week in the office.

This is a full-time, permanent position and applicants must be eligible to work permanently in UK. Unfortunately, sponsorship cannot be offered.
