SalaryOrange Malone is working with a global reinsurer to build a Portfolio Management team in their funded reinsurance business. The team will lead on the end to end execution of the deal and develop the investment strategy.
This will involve working closely with the client to identify the investment guidelines (IMA) and then developing the process - pricing, modelling the portfolios, looking at public credit, etc.
Once the portfolio is constructed, the PM is responsible for investing it in the public credit markets. You will be overseeing 3/4 deals at any one time but it will be a very close collaborative team.
You don't have to be an expert from day one as funded re/financial reinsurance is relatively new - there will be training available. The key skill is good ALM/LDI and ideally reinsurance experience. Any BPA, PM or credit experience is also useful. It's not a quant role but will involve using and understanding the models.
