Senior Power Electronics Engineer
We are looking for a Senior Power Electronics Engineer to join our client's team and lead the design of innovative and high-performance power converters for various applications. You will be responsible for the entire product development cycle, from concept to production, and work closely with other engineers, customers, and suppliers to deliver solutions that meet the highest standards of quality, reliability, and safety.
Responsibilities
- Design 1-30W isolated DC-DC converters and AC-DC converters for Industrial, Energy, Medical, and Automotive applications, using state-of-the-art simulation tools and techniques.
- Lead design projects from kick-off through to manufacturing introduction, ensuring that the project objectives, timelines, and budgets are met.
- Assist in creating design specifications, working closely with the Business Development department to exceed the customer’s expectations and requirements.
- Take an active role in performing verification and validation tests, including electrical, thermal, mechanical, and environmental tests, to ensure product performance and compliance with relevant standards and regulations.
- Solve complex technical/commercial issues, working closely with all engineering disciplines within the company, as well as external partners and suppliers.
- Design the converters to meet the relevant safety standards, such as UL, CE, IEC, etc., and ensure that the product documentation and certification are complete and accurate.
- Maintain project plans and report on the progress of project work as requested by the section Manager, using appropriate tools and methods to communicate effectively and transparently.
- Take part in design reviews and be involved in the technical decision-making process, providing constructive feedback and suggestions to improve the product quality and functionality.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Power Electronics, or related field.
- Minimum 3 to 5 years of experience in designing power converters, preferably in the 1-30W range, for various applications and markets.
- Proficient in using Power Electronics simulation tools, such as PSpice, LTspice, MATLAB, Simulink, etc.
- Familiar with Power Electronics topologies, components, control methods, and design trade-offs.
- Knowledge of Power Electronics standards and regulations, such as UL, CE, IEC, etc., and experience in product certification and testing.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a cross-functional and multicultural team.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
- Self-motivated, proactive, and result-oriented, with a passion for innovation and continuous improvement.
- Willing to travel occasionally to visit customers, suppliers, or other sites as required.
