Job Title: Senior Practitioner - Children's Looked After and Permanence Team
Location: Durham
Salary: 24 - 30 per hour
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Practitioner to join our Children's Looked After and Permanence Team in Durham. This is an exciting opportunity to make a significant impact in the lives of children and young people, working within a supportive and dynamic team environment.
Responsibilities:
- Manage a reduced caseload of the most complex cases, ensuring high-quality care and support for Looked After Children.
- Provide leadership and supervision to Social Worker staff within the team, supporting their professional development and monitoring competency levels.
- Work collaboratively with multi-disciplinary and multi-agency teams to safeguard children and achieve the best possible outcomes.
- Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of the legal framework for children's Social Care, ensuring compliance and best practice.
- Deputise for the Team Manager in their absence, demonstrating effective management skills and decision-making abilities.
- Conduct assessments and reviews of children's care plans, ensuring they are robust and responsive to individual needs.
- Advocate for the rights and welfare of children and young people, promoting their voice and involvement in decision-making processes.
- Provide support and guidance to colleagues, sharing expertise and contributing to a positive team culture.
Requirements:
- Registered with Social work England
- A Degree in Social work or Diploma in SW, CQSW, CSS
- Right to Work
- Enhanced DBS check, dated within the last 12 months
- Up-to-date knowledge of the legal framework for children's Social Care.
- Experience in statutory children's Social Work, including working with Looked After Children.
- Excellent assessment, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with children, families, and partner agencies
- Experience in management or willingness to take on management responsibilities.
