Senior Private Housing Standards Officer

We have 3 exciting opportunities to join our Private Housing Standards Team in Sheffield City Council to support the Council’s aim to improve Housing Standards in the private rented sector including Homes in Multiple Occupation (HMO) and delivery of other schemes across Sheffield.  Sheffield has over 45,000 private rented properties and around 2,500 licensable HMOs.

Do you have experience in housing enforcement and a desire to improve Housing Standards and the lives of people? If so, we would love to hear from you. 

All applicants must have experience in housing enforcement, be a team player, be highly organised and motivated and have excellent communication skills.

Applicants must have;

  • Experience in housing enforcement and will preferably have a degree in Environmental Health.
  • Be certified and confident in applying the Housing Health and Safety Rating System (HSSRS).

If you are appointed to this role, your starting salary will be at the bottom of the grade. If you provide payslip evidence that your basic pay is greater than the bottom of the grade, we will consider starting you at the point of minimum advantage within the grade.
