Your new role
You will be delivering effective procurement and contract management activities. Playing a key role in project managing strategic public procurement competitions in-line with statutory obligations and policies, which result in optimal value for money and social value outcomes and cashable and non-cashable service improvements across the business. Collaborating with cross-functional teams and external supply partners to ensure security of supply while building non-adversarial professional relationships and providing exceptional commercial support.

  • Assist in the identification of procurement opportunities and the development and execution of procurement strategies for all categories of spend across functional and organisation boundaries that drives value, reduces risk, and improves commercial capability.
  • Responsible for delivering multiple strategic covered procurements across organisational boundaries for projects with contract values in excess of £2,000,000 and regulated below threshold contract competitions as allocated from the operational procurement plan by means of compliant competitive tendering procedures.
  • Lead on the development and management of Framework Agreements, Dynamic Purchasing Systems and Pre-Approved Supplier Lists.
  • Leverage exceptional negotiation skills in agreeing and preparing B2B commercial contracts with third party supply partners that are fully compliant with relevant legislation, standing orders and processes and secure favourable pricing and terms that minimise risk and deliver commercial and social value.
  • Review contractual terms and performance data and interrogate spend through detailed spend analysis on external supply partners to ensure financial savings, social value initiatives and on-going service improvements are being realised.
  • Uphold compliance with procurement best practice, internal company policies and procedures and relevant regulations to ensure that procurement activities adhere to appropriate legislation.


What you'll need to succeed

  • Ideally, CIPS or working towards.
  • Must understand PCR15 and demonstrate previous procurements you have lead and undertaken inline with Procurement public sector directives.
  • Be able to travel to the office 2-3 times per week for stakeholder meetings.
