Senior Procurement Specialist

VANRATH are recruiting a Senior Procurement Specialist to take a lead role in securing key freight contracts for our client’s locations throughout Europe.

Flexible Working Arrangement:
Hybrid Arrangement: 3 days in office, 2 at home
Office location can be flexible- can operate from any of the companies NI | UK | ROI locations

Client
Our client is a world leader in intelligent electric heating and renewable energy solutions, as well as holding a significant global position in domestic appliances and HVAC related products.

Originating in Ireland, the company has expanded into a global organisation, with manufacturing and development centres across the ROI and the UK and subsidiary companies further afield.

Daily Duties:

  • Lead competitive tender processes, including the preparation of tender documents, evaluation of bids, negotiation of terms and award of contracts. Including, but not limited to international freight agreements,
  • Management of suppliers & associated contracts. Ensuring the efficient and effective resolution of issues and fulfilment of agreed performance levels
  • Strategic procurement transformation of cross site indirect spend areas,
  • Assist in the development and execution of an indirect procurement strategy and policy,
  • Support the Division’s sustainability goals by ensuring supply chain compliance to ethical sourcing standards and working with Sedex,
  • Creating procurement spend reports,
  • Identify innovative procurement solutions that provide savings and process efficiencies for the organisation,
  • Contribute to building, managing and maintaining relationships with suppliers,
  • Assist with direct procurement spend areas as and when required,
  • Use SAP and its tools to drive enhanced reporting resulting in better decision making,
  • Actively support commercial/procurement issues to facilitate effective business decision making,
  • Support the Category Manager with any other ad-hoc procurement activities.

The Ideal Person:

  • Third Level Qualification in related discipline
  • Minimum of 5 years purchasing/procurement experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience in the procurement of International Freight Services
