Garment Product Developer 12 -18 months FTC
Our clients are a well established with exceptional high standards across the garment industry with an impressive portfolio of customers. They are now requiring a talented Senior Product Developer ideally with Tailoring experience for a 12 /18 month FTC . Hybrid working optional , but must be commutable to East Midlands region.
You must have Adobe Illustrator knowledge, able to use MS word, Excel and PowerPoint , sound garment construction knowledge across Multi Products. PLM system experience highly desirable .
Your role and responsibilities
To ensure that the expectations of all our customers are met by liaising with the relevant Account Manager and Design department, providing support through all stages of product development from initial concept to hand over to production with our vendor base, ensuring that garments are fit for purpose, meet required quality and safety standards.
Responsible for generating detailed specifications, and maintaining them through fit approval, pattern hand-off and factory counter sample review. Specifications to include measurements, construction details, fabric and trim components. Communicate detailed information /feedback to all relevant departments, across our brands.
Attend weekly project meetings with account managers & project stakeholders to update on product status & CP dates.
Liaise with Pattern and Sample rooms on first fit samples, providing technical support to ensure garments are as design brief, fit and quality standard.
Liaise with manufacturing partners utilising their product expertise, adapting designs to suit the production methods throughout the whole development process to achieve the best production methods and maintaining the cost and integrity of the design encouraging continual improvement and providing technical input.
Organize and conduct fit sessions with design on live models, take detailed notes & photos, update specification with fit comments and communicate pattern revisions to patternmaker, measure and evaluate all samples submitted according to specification.
Deal promptly with all specification queries from manufacturers, ensuring all details are recorded, kept updated and relayed back to factories within the agreed time scales maintaining the critical path.
Work in unison with our fabric department, ensuring standards are maintained, understand testing requirements for embellished products carrying clients individual branding.
Sign off first deliveries of new rollouts into the warehouse by setting and agreeing quality standards of delivered stock with the Production Technician and QA team.
