Job description

To programme manage the implementation of the respective programme. Undertake a lead role in coordinating the development of relevant services Identify and understand the needs of stakeholders and provide sound judgment and diplomatic skills Manage the production of the various work packages which constitute the programme and subsequently develop forward work to deliver programme Co-ordinate the activities of relevant programme Boards and other forums. Prepare Programme, Project, Stage and as required Exception Plans, in consultation with the Programme Board. Be responsible for the overall progress of the Programme and use of resources, initiating corrective action where appropriate. Keep the Programme Board informed of progress through the preparation of Highlight and End Stage Assessment Reports. Manage the Programme risks and develop contingency plans as and when necessary. Identify Programme issues and develop solutions where necessary and report to the Programme Board. Provide advice to Ministers and Senior Officials on the development of policy to support the implementation of the Programme. Provide verbal and written reports as requested by Programme SRO, Programme Director and NHS Wales Executives Contribute to the strategic direction of the wider project, and programme management agenda in Public Health Wales. Including; Working with Directorate Leads, Welsh Government and the wider service Problem solving at national and local level Analysing highly complex information made up of complex strands where there may be conflicting factors Lead on the full range of programme development work, providing the direction and guidance to teams To be responsible for team leadership, management and resource management, including the associated line management responsibilities. Develop excellent working relationships with a wide variety of stakeholders Lead the co-ordination of events and/or training Contribute to the personal and professional development of the staff through critical reflection and learning Adapt on a frequent basis to changing priorities and re-focus the post holder and teams work on new priority areas. Where barriers exist to the implementation of changes the post holder will be required to challenge the workforce, senior service managers and clinicians. This will require the use of highly developed communication and inter-personal skills and may involve situations requiring the effective management of conflict.
