Home to rare species of heather and with a moorland habitat that supports a wide variety of wildlife, Brimham sits within the spectacular countryside of Nidderdale in North Yorkshire.

Providing a fantastic visitor experience and ensuring nature thrives, together with a love of the great outdoors, is what makes the team tick here at this busy countryside property.

Hours: 22.5 per week, we are flexible as to when you can work these

Salary: FTE £26,169pa Actual £15,701pa

Contract: Fixed term contract until September 2024

What it's like to work here

You’ll be part of the property team, based at Brimham House overlooking the rocks and moorland. You’ll look after the Visitor Experience offer, working alongside rangers, the welcome team, business services, facilities, food and beverage team, and operations manager.  

What you'll be doing

You’ll be responsible for the creative development and delivery of an inspiring and engaging visitor programme, helping us to deliver our strategic aims for the property. You’ll use programming to encourage repeat and new visits, meet the needs of a diverse audience, and help visitors connect with our cause.

As well as collaborating with other teams on property, you’ll be working to build and maintain relationships with external partners to help us deliver a high-quality and consistent programme. You will be managing a full time Visitor Experience Officer and volunteers to ensure the smooth delivery of all activities.

You’ll also be part of a duty management team, ensuring that day-to-day operations run smoothly and ensuring a fantastic day out for our visitors. This role will include some weekend working (both as part of a duty management rota and visitor programme activity delivery).

Who we're looking for To deliver this role successfully, ideally you'll have:
  • Strong organisational and administrative skills e.g. budget management, keeping and updating records, meeting deadlines etc.
  • Great people and communication skills, establishing positive relationships with both external and internal collaborators
  • The ability to work independently as well as with a team, contributing to a positive, inclusive, and productive place for staff and volunteers
  • To be able to balance competing priorities and demands
  • Experience in delivering visitor programmes and events and/or working with community or commercial partners to deliver events and activities
  • Understanding of an audience-led approach and the ability to evaluate the impact and use feedback to further develop an offer or event
  • To be someone creative, ambitious and able to draw creative ideas from their team.
