Our client, a well-established engineering consultancy, is seeking a skilled and experienced Senior Project Civil and Infrastructure Engineer to join their team. As a Senior Project Civil and Infrastructure Engineer, you will be responsible for managing the day-to-day running of civil engineering projects, working alongside and managing other engineers to deliver projects and perform team administrative tasks. You will assume a pivotal role within a growing civil engineering team and have the opportunity to implement QA/QC procedures, project management tools and contribute to the business's growth.
This is an exciting opportunity to become an influential member of the team and deliver projects of varying sizes, from large master planning projects to site-wide basement projects covering all aspects of building-related infrastructure. Our client is also involved in large-scale international work and is looking to expand in these areas.
Key Responsibilities:
- Client-facing role, attending client and design team meetings
- Running own projects, managing time and resources effectively
- Producing civil engineering designs under minimal supervision
- Mentoring and training graduate engineers
- Checking the quality and accuracy of own work and others' work
- Meeting agreed deadlines
- Managing internal team processes such as resourcing, QA/QC, team standards
- Producing routine letters, reports, and other documents from standard templates
- Effectively organizing information and documentation (e.g., filing, QA)
- Representing the company at internal and external meetings
- Executing responsibilities as outlined in the firm's management system
Job Requirements:
- Minimum 5 years of experience managing and delivering all aspects of Civil engineering projects within a consultancy
- Chartered or working towards chartership with a preferred institute
- Bachelor's degree/Master's degree in Civil Engineering or internationally equivalent qualification
Desired Skills:
- Experience in drainage design in urban and greenfield settings, including sustainable urban drainage and hydraulic modelling
- Knowledge and experience with Section 102 and 104 adoptions, 106 connection applications, and 185 diversion works
- Ability to liaise with statutory bodies, such as Thames Water and The Environment Agency
- In-depth knowledge of design and construction guidance, national planning policy framework, and relevant regulations and standards
- Highway infrastructure design and adoption experience, with particular focus on levels and drainage
- Ability to liaise with highway agencies and local councils on highway issues
- Proficiency in relevant design software, such as AutoCAD AutoDesk Civil 3D and MicroDrainage/Causeway Flow Autodesk Autotrack
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills
