Job description

An exciting opportunity to lead the development of a new public health initiative could be yours with this Senior Project Coordinator role! We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced professional to lead delivery of the Healthy Children Healthy Weight in Wales, ‘PIPYN’, pilot for Children and Families, aimed at addressing overweight and obesity in children aged 3-7 years old across Anglesey, taking a whole systems approach to test a new way of working and building partnership links within the community where the families live.
The Project Lead will work with a multi-disciplinary partnership approach to continue our pilot programme, and to develop links with families to offer a range of support opportunities. This will include providing leadership on the effective use of dedicated Family Support Workers and home based interventions including one-to-one and group interventions.
This role is open to applicants from different professional backgrounds.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; both English and Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
This post is fixed term until 31 March 2025.
Working alongside a national project board, the post holder will lead on local planning, implementation and evaluation of the pilot programme to contribute towards implementation of the Healthy Weight: Healthy Wales Strategy, with a particular focus on aiding delivery of a whole systems approach to promoting a healthy weight and addressing obesity across Anglesey.
The post holder will provide specialist advice and support community development approaches and initiatives to address health inequalities to implement a practical and accessible pilot programme focusing on food, nutrition and physical activity.
Through co-production, the post holder will be responsible for working with and building on existing networks and programmes, to lead development of wider family based support focused on the elements that contribute towards achieving and maintaining a healthy weight.
The post holder will lead and manage the local project team, which includes a Dietitian, Family Support Workers and Administrative staff.

We are looking for Masters or equivalent knowledge in Public Health / Health Promotion or allied discipline or equivalent professional qualification.
