Our client is currently recruiting for two new Senior Project Managers to work within their Estates Transformation and Capital Projects Team.

Salary: £47,582 (inclusive of London Weighting)

Purpose of the Role
Sitting within the wider Estate Transformation team, the Senior Project Manager will focus on the development and delivery of projects and programmes for the transformation of the conservation zoos and sites. Specialising in one thematic priority (e.g. strategic masterplans or commercial infrastructure), the Senior Project Manager will work closely with the Head of Capital Projects to develop best practice of project management at this organisation, developing and maintaining effective stakeholder engagement, creating project frameworks and ensuring efficient project delivery.

Key responsibilities

  • Using the Estates Transformation guiding principles and strategy, provide operational leadership and project management to enable this organisation to deliver its goals and ambitions in providing excellence in sustainable design, reaching net zero by 2035, developing whole life cost and carbon analysis initiatives, and driving forward their value for money agenda in projects.
  • Provide leadership and direction to stakeholders by owning the scoping, briefing documents, procurement and management of contractor teams and external consultants, ensuring that projects are delivered from inception to completion
  • Develop project briefs under the strategic framework set out by the Director of Estate Transformation and Head of Capital Projects. Detailing project requirements, governance and timeframes.
  • Monitor the quality and cost-effectiveness of services provided by design teams to ensure high standards and value for money and compliance with internal procurement policies

About You
You will have:

  • Experience of large scale masterplanning and budget management, and wider operational leadership in a complex and diverse organisation.
  • Strong project management skills, able to oversee multiple projects and prioritise as necessary.
  • Excellent communication skills and proven ability to work collaboratively with senior colleagues and teams across various disciplines and locations, able to influence, engage and constructively challenge at the strategic level
  • A degree in architecture, civil / structural engineering, building services engineering or similar construction related field is desired. Other qualifications may be considered based on experience and strength of application 

This post is a blended role for office and home working; regular travel on-site will be required, although this will be expected to be more frequent during key stages of project delivery.
