As the successful candidate you will be a frontline professional delivering a first class, modern and flexible service to private sector landlords and some of the most vulnerable people in the Borough. You are outcome focussed and seek to achieve successful outcomes by implementing bespoke solutions to complex problems.
You will increase the supply of accommodation through negotiation and acquisition of properties in the private rented sector that are suitable to prevent and resolve homelessness.
You will also be responsible for the below:
Proactively seek business opportunities to acquire private rented accommodation that is suitable to meet the needs of those who are homeless or threatened with homelessness.
Devise and produce clear information and advice on various schemes available to property owners, private landlords and managing agents and use creative and innovative negotiation skills to secure and retain business opportunities with private landlords.
Carry out property inspections, viewings, and sign ups to maximise opportunities to move people into accommodation to minimise void times for landlords and ensure tenancies will be sustainable and affordable to prevent or resolve homelessness.
Ensure setting up and renewals of agreements with landlords are carried out in a timely manner, are compliant with current legislation, accurate payments to landlords are verified, and be a dedicated and knowledgeable point of contact for private sector landlords to provide advice on legal requirements and associated issues for letting their homes.
Proactively intervene where tenancies may be at risk of breaking down, carrying out holistic assessments that effectively balance the needs of landlords and tenants, working in a person-centred way and with other agencies to ensure needs are met.
To be considered for this role you will need experience of sourcing accommodation from private sector landlords.
