Senior Purchaser

Copello are working with a Global Engineering and Manufacturing company in the marine sector, on the recruitment of a Senior Purchaser based in Havant.

The position of Senior Purchaser is to lead a small team of purchasers to achieve agreed targets in line with the output plan.

As Senior Purchaser, you will also manage communication between the internal departments to ensure quality of supply and on time delivery in line with the output plan, as well as identifying and driving improvements and facilitating excellent supplier relations.
Working closely with Manufacturing, Projects, and Finance teams to maximize efficiencies. this role will be responsible for developing the ways of working, as well as the individuals in the team. When needed, you are expected to step-in and participate in, or lead, project specific negotiations. We also expect you to inspire the team to perform at their optimum and reach the organisation s targets.

To be successful in this role, we expect you to have:

• Previous experience of working in a purchasing environment, including being able to demonstrate the use of best practice, together with previous SAP MRP experience.
• The ability to communicate well with others and encouraging others in the team to do the same is essential.
• Proven leadership, decision making, and organisational skills are a must, along with the ability to interrogate data to identify problems and action improvement activities.
• Significant procurement experience gained within Manufacturing/Engineering.
• Ideally CIPS qualified or part qualified.
