Our QA team is going through a shift in ways of working to assist digital product development to release faster than ever before! As a Senior QA Engineer at Gymshark, you will be utilising your skills across non-functional testing methodologies to meticulously examine system performance, scalability, and reliability, guaranteeing optimal user experiences under diverse conditions!
You will lean into object-oriented languages such as Java and Python to craft robust, maintainable test suites that effectively validate software functionalities. Collaborating with highly skilled Developers, you will navigate cloud based platforms like AWS or Azure, leveraging their scalability and flexibility to conduct comprehensive evaluations and make suggestions for positive change.
In addition to this, it is expected for the successful Senior QA Engineer to use CI/CD pipelines and your understand of SRE/DevOps principles to help enable seamless integration of testing processes into agile development workflows, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and reliability across the software development lifecycle!
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:
- Makes significant contribution to the development of our automated testing codebases, ensuring best practice, innovation, DRY principles and code standards are developed and adhered to.
- Contributes to ideation, problem solving and innovation happening within the QA engineering team.
- Works independently with limited supervision in delivering agreed requirements through our automated tests & tools in expected timeframes and to established standards.
- Coaches and builds the capability of more junior engineers to anticipate and pre-empt organisational and engineering issues and delivery performance within the QA engineering team.
- Contributes to the engineering strategy applied by Tech leaders to our automated tests
- Will partner with product owners to ensure that expectations are managed, delivering projects as required as well as ensuring that key deliverables are met within the specified timelines.
- Uses data and analytics to measure the effectiveness of tools and understand the landscape for further improvement.
- Continuously drives improvements in tools and policies through external market trends, insight and internal best practice.
- Maintains a clear and detailed knowledge of the industry trends, best practices, and innovation ensuring that we remain a world leader in our field and actively build Gymshark as a technology brand.
- Strives to monitor and challenge existing Tech and QA engineering processes to continually improve our output in both QA engineering and the wider Tech team.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED:
Essential Criteria:
- Experience in QA/Testing
- API and BDD Testing
- Knowledge of CI/CD and build pipelines for client side software function and where the QA process can fit within them
- Working knowledge in one of the following testing languages; Java, JS/ Node, or C#; along with automation libraries such as; Selenium & Appium
- Geniune passion for keeping up with industry trends and how Gymshark would benefit from utilising different methods
- Team player who is happy to coach and mentor others in their team
- Ability to relay complex technical work to a none technical stakeholder
- Been part of an agile methodolgy in a scrum format
- Commercial Awareness and a creative problem solver with the ability to think laterally and understand the cost and value drivers within a competitive business environment
WHAT YOU COULD ALSO HAVE:
Experience with SRT/QSB testing principles
- Understanding and have previously worked with SRE/DevOps principles
This is a hybrid role and would require the successful candidate to attend at least 3 days a week in GSHQ, Solihull, UK.
