Senior Quality Engineer Summary:
Ensure work aligns with customer standards, specifications, and schedules, emphasizing quality, value for money, and right first-time delivery. The Senior Quality Engineer, reporting to the Senior Quality Manager, manages scope packages and Quality Professionals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, maintain, and improve local management systems for effective delivery.
- Verify compliance with quality requirements and resolve on-site issues.
- Collaborate with stakeholders for a cohesive approach to quality.
- Assess supplier capabilities and engage with disciplines/functions to meet requirements.
- Work collaboratively on quality plans, inspection plans, and quality standards.
- Define quality and lifetime record strategies, promoting a culture of Right First Time delivery.
- Implement QA/QC activities, analyze outputs, and communicate performance to management.
- Provide oversight of the quality management system and stay updated on relevant knowledge.
- Lead inspections, audits, and investigations, sharing lessons learned for continual improvement.
- Raise quality deviations as events for investigation and learning.
- Ensure personal and professional development and support staff in their training.
The Person:
Qualifications, Training, Technical Knowledge, Attributes, and Skills:
- Trained Internal or Lead Auditor to ISO 9001 (desirable).
- Practitioner/Member of the CQI or working towards Practitioner level.
- Minimum 2 years of team management experience, motivating colleagues for high compliance standards.
- Operational or project experience in the Nuclear Industry or similar complex environments.
- Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, Control and Automation (MEICA) knowledge (desirable).
- Previous experience with temporary works.
- Wide industry understanding, including materials, trades, methods, and legal requirements.
- Effective engagement with all levels of the organization, suppliers, and stakeholders.
- Relevant security clearance level for site access (if applicable).
- Collaborative work on quality plans, inspection plans, and lifetime records.
- Use of appropriate tools and techniques for monitoring quality performance.
- Excellent working knowledge of industry techniques, construction practices, and standards.
- Strong planning, time management, and multitasking skills without compromising quality.
