Senior Quantity Surveyor

I'm currently recruiting for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to work on HS2 in Southam.

This role is a freelance role with 12 months+ worth of work, they are looking someone to work full time on site and the hours are 7:30 - 5:30.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage all aspects of quantity surveying activities for the HS2 project, including cost estimation, tendering, procurement, contract administration, and final account settlement.
• Conduct thorough cost analysis and risk assessment to identify potential areas for cost savings and optimisation.
• Collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment on budgetary goals and project objectives.
• Provide expert advice and guidance on contractual matters, claims management, and dispute resolution.
• Monitor and report on project financial performance, including budget variations, cash flow projections, and expenditure forecasts.
• Lead a team of Quantity Surveyors, providing mentorship, training, and support as needed.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or related field. Master's degree or professional certification is a plus.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in quantity surveying, with a proven track record of delivering successful projects within the construction or infrastructure sector.
• In-depth knowledge of quantity surveying principles, contract law, and relevant industry standards (NEC, JCT).
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to interpret complex data and make informed decisions.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with diverse stakeholders at all levels.
• Proficiency in relevant software tools, such as MS Excel, AutoCAD, and quantity surveying software.
• Leadership qualities with a proactive and results-driven approach to problem-solving.
