AddressBAM Nuttall are seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor with a proven track record to join the Guildford STW project team. Experience with heavy civils is essential with preferably water projects but not essential. This role offers an exciting opportunity to be part of a fast paced project, improving the environment and gaining new experience of the increased investment in the water industry. The successful candidate will be commercially responsible for a section of the structures part of the project. Ideally the candidate will be located in the surrounding area of Guildford, however. hybrid working arrangement is available to reduce travel times.
As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for the following:
Contributing to the application for payment to the Client.
Identifying claims and pricing variations in a timely manner.
Providing advice to the operational team, collaborating with all teams members and being part of a high performing team.
Procurement of works packages to ensure best value is achieved.
Monitoring outputs of self delivery works, identifying trends and being part of key decisions.
Managing subcontractor packages from start to final account.
Developing robust forecasts, cost estimates and cash flow projections.
Being part of assuring the Client’s business model, by evaluating progress reporting against planned activities using SPI / CPI calcs.
Have experience in a civil engineering environment and possess a robust knowledge of construction processes.
Have a recognised degree or HND in quantity surveying.
Chartership not necessary, BAM will support gaining CICES.
Demonstrate a solid understanding and appreciation of standard forms of contract in the construction industry.
Exhibit strong IT skills, especially word and excel, have knowledge of portal systems such as CEMAR, BIM 360 and BC.
Exceptional time management skills with a keen focus on delivering outputs.
