Salary: £65,000 - £85,000 per annum

Our client, a leading civil engineering contractor, is seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their dynamic team in Milton Keynes. Responsibilities:

As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will play a crucial role in managing the financial aspects of construction projects from inception to completion. Your responsibilities will include:

Preparing tender and contract documents, including bills of quantities.

Evaluating and negotiating subcontractor and supplier contracts.

Conducting cost analysis and providing accurate cost forecasts.

Monitoring project costs, including variations and progress claims.

Managing and controlling project budgets.

Collaborating with the project team to ensure adherence to financial objectives.

Overseeing the preparation of monthly progress and cost reports.

Resolving contractual and commercial issues that arise during projects.

Ensuring compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards.

Mentoring and providing guidance to junior members of the team.

Requirements:

Minimum of 7 years' experience as a Quantity Surveyor in the construction industry.

Strong knowledge of civil engineering projects, including highways and infrastructure.

Proven track record in managing financial aspects of projects, including cost control and budgeting.

Excellent understanding of contractual matters and experience in contract negotiation.

Proficiency in using industry-standard software and tools for quantity surveying.

Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.

Strong communication and negotiation skills.

Professional membership of relevant industry bodies (e.g., RICS) is desirable.
