H9 Technical are working with a long-term infrastructure investor with a diverse energy portfolio. We are looking for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join the team based in Leeds.
Key responsibilities:
- Developing commercial and procurement strategies to deliver costs within budgets.
- Drafting of complex contract arrangement and appropriate terms of engagement.
- Building and maintaining working relationships with the supply chain and clients.
- Complying with company's governance, policies, and procedures
- Preparing budgets and forecasts and accurate financial reporting of performance.
- Estimating costs of projects (civil, mechanical, electrical, and instrumentational)
- Measuring of quantities and pricing of work as required.
- Identifying commercial risks, opportunities, value engineering and change
- Ensuring all financial aspects and impacts of a contract are clear to all stakeholders.
- Preparing commercial reporting (internal and external) and other reports which may be required.
- Managing projects in accordance with internal budgets
- Challenging & managing cost control and providing cost mitigation measures where appropriate.
- Undertaking contract administration, including change management and maintaining associated registers.
- Negotiating and agreeing change events, extension of time claims and final accounts within the timescales required.
- Assessing applications for payment in accordance with the contract and preparation of payment certificates.
- Assisting with the negotiation and agreement of final accounts.
- Undertaking monthly accruals and forecasting for the business.
Skills and experience required:
- Minimum of 10 years Quantity Surveying or otherwise appropriate experience
- Minimum of 3 years experience in any of following industries - Gas, Utilities, Civil Engineering, M&E or Renewable Technology.
- Must work well with others and form strong relationships within the team.
- Commercially astute with good knowledge of all NEC Forms of Contract.
- Excellent organisation and record keeping skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively within a team environment.
- Strong communicator with confident in dealing with clients, project partners and stakeholders.
- Ability to meet challenging deadlines and prioritise tasks efficiently.
- Computer literate with strong skills in Microsoft Office Applications (Word/Excel/Outlook/PowerPoint)
- Good communication skills including the ability to negotiate and communicate clearly with others.
- Work flexibly to meet the needs of the role including occasional travel to other locations within the UK.
- Self-motivated. Capable of working under minimal supervision and on own initiative.
- Full UK driving licence and right to work in the UK
