My client is currently recruiting for an additional Senior Quantity Surveyor/ Commercial Manager to work on a number of exciting projects within the South East construction business.

Job: Senior Quantity Surveyor / Commercial Manager

Location: Shrewsbury

Salary: £85k + package + career progression

Client:

A leading National Tier 1 contractor working on a variety of projects across the UK.

The main duties as the Senior Quantity Surveyor/Commercial Manager:

• You will provide commercial expertise and be responsible for the financial delivery of one or a number of projects.
• The management of relevant surveying staff to ensure that projects are procured and delivered within budget and to the highest quality whilst exceeding customer expectations.
• You will accurately value, certify and issue any relevant payment notices for the subcontract works in accordance with the conditions of their subcontract.
• Ensure that external valuations are submitted in accordance with conditions of the main contract and that payments are received by the due date, taking full responsibility for the project's cash position.
• Complete CVC reports, ensuring they accurately reflect the current position on site and the final profit projection.
• Managing, training and developing junior surveying staff.

Essential Criteria:

• Understanding and experience of working on NEC forms of contract.
• Degree qualified.
• Being able to manage and report on more than one project at a time.
• A track record of successful procurement.
• Extensive knowledge of relevant computer software such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Microsoft Project.
• Experience working on Educational, Leisure and Health Care is desirable
