Your new company is looking to recruit a permanent staff member for a specialist second tier subcontractor that provides site engineering and land surveying services for main contractors and end users. You will be joining a forward-looking niche subcontractor based in the Sussex area that focusses on Engineering, Utility & Land Surveying on transport, infrastructure as well as commercial new build construction projects across the UK. They have previously worked on projects such as Heathrow Airport and Gatwick Airport HS2, Silvertown, British library, and Hinckley Point C. Our client works collaboratively to successfully develop innovative solutions to provide Computer aided design (CAD), Geographical Information System (GIS) and Building Information Modelling (BIM). As they are now expanding rapidly, they are now looking for a Quantity Surveyor to manage their NEC contracts with main contractors and end users.
Your new role as Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible In your financial oversight of the various contracts in flight with their current customers. Duties are responsibilities include Commercial Management of projects across all business sectors. Review of Contracts before signature. Setting up and managing suppliers. Owning and updating Terms & Conditions. Compiling payment applications for NEC3/4 Contracts. Managing NEC3/4 Change Control (EWNs and CEs). Setting up and managing supplier frameworks. Completing RFQs and RFIs for bids. Reviewing commercial performance of projects and business units. Ensuring quotes and tenders reflect current thinking and lessons learnt from other jobs. Final Accounts. Resolving any commercial disputes with clients and suppliers. Review Payment Certificates against applications. Working hours are 08:00-17:00 on Monday to Friday with the option of working part-time 3-4 days per week, full time hybrid working agreement or full time in the office.
What you\'ll need to succeed to be successful, you will have a flexible and a cheerful outlook, have excellent planning and organisational skills and be able to learn new software and processes. You will have considerable experience of quantity surveying in the UK. Strong working knowledge of NEC3/4 contracts. Able to manage change control under NEC3/4 principals. This can be a demanding environment that changes quickly, so candidates need to be able to adapt to change and prioritising workloads. We want somebody who can multitask, be adaptable and become a valuable member of our team. Adept at Microsoft Office applications. Effective communication skills with the confidence to brief work teams. Experienced at establishing and developing relationships with clients and suppliers. CSCS Card folder. Microsoft Project. Experienced at compiling quotes and tenders. Enthusiastic, dependable, and initiative with a strong, confident personality. Advanced knowledge of Excel. UK Driving Licence. Right to Work in the UK & English Speaking. RICS membership is desirable.
