Client Overview:
Our client is a distinguished consultancy firm operating in the UK, specialising in the field of Water infrastructure and utilities. They have a rich history of delivering excellence to their clients, with a strong focus on pre-contract and post-contract quantity surveying services. The company is known for its commitment to quality, innovation, and the successful management of complex projects in the Water industry and broader utilities and infrastructure sectors.
Purpose of the Role:
The role primarily centres around pre-contract quantity surveying duties, transitioning towards post-contract responsibilities.
Key Accountabilities:
As a consultant, the role involves occasional or permanent secondment into one of our client's clients. Key responsibilities include:
- Taking responsibility for projects from inception to completion.
- Acting as the main point of contact for clients, instilling confidence in them.
- Managing projects in the Water Sector using the NEC form of contract.
- Estimating and cost planning.
- Offering procurement advice.
- Completing tender documentation.
- Administering contracts and controlling costs.
- Preparing cost reports.
- Final account preparation.
- Attending meetings and conducting site visits.
- Holding a professional membership with RICS is preferable.
- Interacting with clients confidently and leading meetings.
- Managing and taking the lead on multiple projects for clients.
- Performing other appropriate Quantity Surveying and Commercial Management duties as required.
Essential:
- NEC3/4 working knowledge.
- Experience in pre-contract tender documentation and processes, as well as contract documentation.
- Post-contract experience.
- Previous experience in the Water industry or wider utilities.
- Proficiency in project cost management, including organisational and diligent skills.
- Effective communication, report writing, and interpersonal skills.
- Computer literacy with Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project, and other specialist computer packages associated with the job role.
Desirable:
- Experience in regulated procurement.
- MRICS / MCICES or working towards it.
