Senior React Native Engineer

Salary: Up to £85,000

In this role, you will be working with multiple product teams who develop and maintain our mobile app. Used by over 2m people, you will play a key role in modernising the way we deliver existing and new services to our members.

As a Senior Front End Engineer in our company, you will shape the future of our React Native approach to support a highly ambitious product strategy!

  • An expert React Native engineer: Contributing and pushing the craft forwards within teams and broader engineering community.

Accountability

  • Takes ownership of technical designs and decisions made for your product and in your squad, helping your team prioritise and make clear decisions in alignment with organizational goals.
  • Regularly improve the robustness, resiliency, and stability of code and the overall product.
  • Lead on expediting the resolution of serious technology issues.
  • Control technical debt and ensure testing and security are first-class considerations.

Team

  • Acts as a role, leading and inspiring others to experiment, learn and deliver their best work.
  • Actively gives praise and constructive feedback to individuals in their teams.
  • Works to build strong relationships with engineers and non-technical people, in your teams across the division and in the broader business.
  • Communicates clearly and effectively with people in your teams, locally in the UK and remotely with other engineers across Europe. Can use appropriate techniques and tools to collaborate with teams and facilitate technical meetings.

How you'll spend your time

  • You will be working in a multi-disciplinary digital product squad alongside React and backend engineers, DevOps, testers, product designers and owners - iterating and improving the services delivered to our members through our mobile apps.
  • You will be following Agile practices to design and refine solutions that deliver value quickly and iteratively to our members.
  • You will be a direct individual contributor, cutting code and releasing new work in each sprit, refactoring and modernizing code where appropriate.
  • You will be collaborating with other team members, pair programming, mentoring and supporting other developers in the team.
  • You will be regularly providing reviews on pull requests, taking your turn in leading release activities and monitoring.
  • You will be identifying technical debt, contributing ideas and work to improve our processes. Monitoring, identifying and resolving production issues.

We work across a broad range of languages and technologies including C# (Backend), JavaScript (Frontend), React, React-Native, Kubernetes and all services within Azure.
