Job Description

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Regulatory Lawyer with a passion for the energy sector and a deep commitment to contributing to the energy transition. This role is pivotal in navigating and shaping the regulatory landscape within which National Grid operates and in enabling the business with its ambitions.

The UK is on a journey to reach net zero targets by 2050. The energy sector plays a vital part in helping the country to make this transformational change, but to deliver on this ambition we need people with talent, the drive and the passion to make this a reality.

We are seeing unprecedented growth in the need for new energy infrastructure. To support this growth in infrastructure we are also seeing increasing demand for regulatory legal advice. The regulatory framework specific to electricity distribution and transmission and the associated funding arrangements under which we operate are evolving and need to change further to deliver a regime that can fully support the transformation required.  Additional support is therefore needed in the UK Legal team to provide advice to National Grid Electricity Distribution plc (NGED) and other parts of the National Grid group on a wide range of high profile and strategically important regulatory legal matters.

You will be a good communicator, able to listen effectively, work closely with colleagues (in the UK Legal team, NGED and National Grid business) on a wide range of regulatory matters and related issues.

The role is a permanent, full-time position but flexible or part time working may also be considered. It can be based from our Warwick, Bristol, Castle Donnington or The Strand, London offices.

We operate a Hybrid Working approach with a mix of home and office working to suit the needs of the business and our employees, using technology to ensure we always feel connected. Travel to different office locations may be needed.
