About the role

Hargreaves Lansdown (HL) is now recruiting for a Senior Regulatory Specialist to support the Rules Mapping Lead in the development of a comprehensive rules mapping solution across HL, on a 2 year fixed term contract. This includes creating and updating rules maps for the existing suite of regulatory obligations, working across the business to demonstrate how processes and controls meet relevant regulatory requirements for the industry.
This is a really exciting opportunity to join a brand new and dynamic environment where you'll be part of the Rules Mapping Team working closely with Compliance and business colleagues to ensure each requirement has the correct application and interpretation to enable rule owners to understand their obligations.

What you'll be doing

  • Creating rules maps consistent with the prioritisation approach, ensuring they articulate the applicability and interpretations for each regulated entity correctly.
  • Contributing towards maintaining a risk-based approach to enable effective prioritisation across the organisation.
  • Engaging in stakeholder management and working with them to assign processes, risks and controls.
  • Assisting with the development of functional RegTech requirements including UAT and ongoing enhancements.
  • Identifying efficiencies and leverage opportunities.
  • Identifying risks and mitigations relating to the organisation, rules mapping process and/or system.
  • Supporting with the creation of progress reports and MI.

About you

  • Experience within a Compliance or Risk Analyst capacity ideally with a large focus on rules mapping and regulatory change.
  • Very strong knowledge of relevant financial services regulations, with awareness of those applicable to Hargreaves Lansdown regulated activities.
  • The ability to interpret and articulate the meaning of complex rules and standards in such a way that they can be linked to business activities and processes in a straightforward way.
  • Very strong attention to detail.
  • Previous experience in writing and reviewing change management documents and presentations.
  • Strong relationship and stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence at a senior level where necessary.
  • Previous experience implementing RegTech projects would be beneficial.

Interview process

The interview process for this role will be a two-stage process including a technical task.

Working Schedule

This role is based in Bristol head office, BS1 5HL. This role is permanent, full time, 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday. We have returned to the office, however for this role we offer a hybrid flexible working pattern to enable you the option of working from home and coming into the office.
