The Division of Health Research (DHR) within Lancaster University’s Faculty of Health and Medicine is seeking to appoint a Senior Research Associate or Research Associate, to work as part of the International Observatory on End of Life Care in conjunction with the Centre of Health Informatics, Computing and Statistics. The post holder will play a key role in a study mapping illness trajectories for people with advanced cancer receiving immunotherapy treatment, with Lancaster Medical School (LMS) and The Christie NHS Foundation Trust. The research is funded by North West Cancer Research (NWCR). The post holder will work with Dr Sarah Brearley and colleagues from DHR, Lancaster Medical School (LMS), Centre of Health Informatics, Computing and Statistics (CHICAS) and The Christie in the preparation and delivery of the study. There will be a particular responsibility for the management and statistical analysis of quantitative data (both routine NHS data and survey responses), ideally using R software. They will demonstrate excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work alongside a range of staff and other stakeholders (such as patient representatives and NWCR) from across the Northwest. The International Observatory on End of Life Care conducts high quality cutting edge research and provides innovative educational programmes to improve palliative and end of life care for patients and family members.
