SENIOR SALES ACCOUNT EXECUTIVE

THE COMPANY:
Mydek is a wholly owned subsidiary of one of Britain’s leading, family-owned construction supply businesses. Since its establishment in early 2019, MyDek has been specialising in non-combustible decking systems. Our team has collaborated with building owners, developers, and consultants to enhance the safety of balconies and terraces on high-rise buildings.
Balcony refurbishment and the new-build market is vast, and we have ambitious growth plans to match. We are looking for an experienced Strategic Account Manager to drive sales, expand into new markets, and grow the company's portfolio for maximum profitability. As a part of a larger, highly profitable privately owned group of companies, we have the resources to achieve these ambitions.

THE ROLE:
As the most senior member of the sales team, you will hold a pivotal role in the company, reporting directly to the Sales Director. Your primary responsibility will be to generate sales opportunities and drive the company's growth. You will be accountable for achieving clearly agreed, ambitious sales targets and driving sales performance throughout the company.
You will be responsible for developing sales strategies, tactics, and targets for you and your support team to execute. Achieving sales targets within assigned budget and resources, building strong, lasting relationships with clients, and ensuring a satisfactory customer experience are also among your key responsibilities.
Furthermore, you will be expected to identify and report on business opportunities and potential threats in the target market while mitigating risks. You will also explore and exploit new opportunities, continuously improve the sales process, and contribute to the company's best practices.
YOU
You will:
- Be an ambitious, enthusiastic Strategic Account Manager with a strong track record of success in the construction market.
- Have exceptional leadership skills.
- Be a highly motivated individual with excellent communication, in addition to strong influencing and networking skills.
- Possess a strong desire for success and be committed to do the work necessary to achieve results.
- Be a self-disciplined, confident decision maker who takes full responsibility for their own performance.
- Be able to build rapport and relationships with ease and be confident in communicating technical and non-technical information with all levels of potential customers and staff members.
- Be proficient in communicating product benefits to specifiers, contractors, and installers.
- Possess a valid UK driving licence.
- Be resilient with a positive ‘can do’ attitude to your job.
- Be willing to continually grow, develop and learn new skills.
- Have a proven track record of finding new opportunities and be able to rapidly grow new territories and markets.
- Be able to hit agreed targets, and where possible, exceed them.
- Be proficient in IT / Microsoft skills – particularly Excel.
- Having a basic understanding of engineering principles would be advantageous.
