Senior Sales Engineer

Location: Sheffield

Salary: £45,000 - £49,500

Job Type: Permanent

Hours of Work: Monday to Thursday 07:45 – 16:15 and Friday 07:45 – 12:45

Engineering @ 365 are currently working witha market leading client within their respected field. They are looking to recruit a Senior Sales Engineer to both support and grow their current client base/

Job Description: 

As a a Senior Sales Engineer you will be responsible to drive opportunities and enquiries through the sales process, with a strong focus on understanding customer needs and the technical capabilities of our products and services. This role involves managing key sales accounts, providing sales support, and fostering relationships to enable new sales with established customers. This position requires excellent sales relationship skills and a deep understanding of the commercial requirements for selling technical products.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Regularly communicate with new and existing customers.
  •  Identify opportunities and update the forecasting pipeline.
  •   Qualify and transfer opportunities into the enquiry process.
  • Prepare quotations/tenders with Product Engineers.
  • Commercial processing of Purchase Orders and Contracts to ensure a smooth handover to the Contracts and Production Teams.
  •  Drive revenue and margin growth from customers through high-level customer service and engagement.
  •   Provide business development support at marketing events and supply feedback on new products, services, and markets.
  •   Collaborate with Business Development Managers, Head of Marketing & Communications, Sales Director, and other internal departments.
  • Engage in face-to-face visits with customers and attend trade shows and exhibitions.
  • Negotiate contracts and prepare sales quotations.
  • Assist in generating work instructions and departmental procedures.
  • Process sales orders with the support of additional resources.
  • Prepare data for sales reports, forecasts, and Key Performance Indicators.
  • Prepare costings and price analysis, ensuring processes are maintained for Service Agreements.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in a Sales Engineer role.
  • Proven track record of both winning, retaining and maintaining new business.
  • Strong technical understanding.
  • Strong communication and project management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
