This is a exciting role! A leader in the Fresh Produce Industry are keen to speak with Senior Sales candidates from the Fresh Produce Industry!

The Senior Sales Manager would be expected to :

Deliver on the budget (UK and Import plans) that ultimately leads to delight, strong business execution and achievement of sales targets

Create value optimise pricing in line with our clients commercial strategy and market share objective

Ensure strong governance of customer demand either though tenders or weekly programmed pricing, updating Demand Forecast Plans in a timely fashion to be visible trough the IBP meetings. Ensure the sales teams are actively identifying growth opportunities on the mid to long term and that IBP process requirements are met. Endure there is alignment across the business. 

Achieve growth across multiple channels and tiers in targeted retail customers using our clients product portfolio

Customer relationships. Create trusted customer relationships with effortless cooperation. Ensure strong relationships with key customers at Buying and Trading Manager level so that there is contact across multiples DMU in the business. Behave as a category leader bringing a high level of professionalism to meetings, presentation and visits. 

Leverage Category and marketing insights to demonstrate category leadership and use extensive data to drive results and business growth including category teams in DEMEA

Customer treatment strategy. Ensure clear internal treatment strategies in place to enable effective prioritisation in place. 

Teams - Build an energetic and high performing sales team where employees are engaged and enabled to perform, Import, give autonomy and use sub team meetings to drive messaging and comms. 

As Senior Sales Manager you are fully responsible for the sales rota

Ensure strong cross functional relationships with teams inside and outside of the business

Foster a 'one team' approach with Supply Chain, Product Business Managers, Planning and Technical Teams 

Growth mindset, action orientated, create a positive movement 

Drive efficiencies through negotiation. Reduced complexity through: Lower SKU numbers, increased pallet fills, minimum order runs, local depots. Leverage efficiency whenever there is a position to do so. When the customer requests something, think counterparts! Get teams thinking the same mindset.

Principal Accountabilities

Assigned responsibility for select customers 

Align with other Senior Sales Manager to ensure total company demand and supply is optimised

Standardise way of working as much as possible for assigned customers 

Conduct monthly reviews with customers using the standard reporting format where possible. Prepare and conduct regular reviews of service levels, market share and quality performance

Oversee seasonal reviews, category management sessions and planning for mid to long term 

Where appropriate establish long term joint business plans with partner customers, including input from Procurement, Supply Chain, Technical, Packaging and Sales Manager / Cat Manager teams - evolution of these plans on regular basis is critical 

Work closely with Technical, Product Leadership and Global Breeding on enhancing product knowledge and NPD

Provide market feedback to the PBMs and gain production insight to assist with weekly negotiation, weekly or short / medium term fixed price programmes. 

Support the IBP Meetings and drive change management 

Support information request for the grower council requirements

Promotional and demand planning with customer commercial teams

Develop account and assistant manager. Maintain a succession plan for the team

Support Sales Director and senior leadership in Europe in providing market information and preparation for internal and external meetings

Support PBMs when required with market updates

Other ad-hoc duties as required

Person Specification 

The successful candidate would have a strong background in Sales Management within the Fresh Produce / Fruit or similar Industry

You would have a Strategic mindset . You would look to the future and make a plan to get there

Experience managing a Sales Team , able to develop talent and actively develop and motivate your team

You would be energetic, ambitious and be results driven - Passion is what we are looking for!

Location: Kent 

Salary: Excellent , DOE
