Job Title: Senior Sales Support Consultant
Salary: £60,000 + dependent upon experience
Location : Peterborough, UK

About IPSD
Caterpillar’s Industrial Power Systems Division (IPSD) designs, tests and manufactures 0.5 to 18L Cat® and Perkins engines that power over 5000 applications including Marine, Petroleum, Industrial Applications, Electric Generators, and Locomotives. Job Summary
Supports and drives achievement of the business plan by monitoring the business and generating recommendations that contribute to both the short-term and long-term initiatives of these plans.

What You Will Do:
Consulting with the product groups, districts, and dealers in developing and implementing customer solutions designed to maximize product value and price.
Designing correct business plan shortfalls and capitalizing on identified incremental sales opportunities
Resolving issues related to the products and overall commercial performance in the territory; Oversees PINS trends, demand fluctuations, and basic customer requirements.
Champion the visibility and improvement of the customer experience across the IPSD-M & SMSP functionals
Leading strategic projects with cross functional teams linked to profitable growth activities and the improvement of the customer experience.
Champion Lean and continuous improvement within the commercial team, managing the pipeline of process improvement activities.
Support the IPSD-M Commercial Director in process ownership & readiness of senior management reviews.
Monitor and maintain alignment of commercial processes across all of the IPSD.
What You Have:
Candidates will have demonstrated experience with working with multiple cross functional teams and have strong project leadership skills.
A passion for continuous improvement and process ownership to develop the customer experience is an imperative
Customer Focus: Knowledge of the values and practices that align customer needs and satisfaction as primary considerations in all business decisions and ability to leverage that information in creating customized customer solutions.
Decision Making and Critical Thinking: Knowledge of the decision-making process and associated tools and techniques; ability to accurately analyze situations and reach productive decisions based on informed judgment.
Effective Communications: Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors.
Business Development: Knowledge of business development tools, techniques and approaches; ability to explore and develop potential areas of business growth for the organization.
Relationship Management: Knowledge of relationship management techniques; ability to establish and maintain healthy working relationships with clients, vendors, and peers.
