Point 14 to point 18 of the NJC pay scale for outer London
£30,662 to £32,624 per annum
35 hours per week on a 52 week contract

An exciting opportunity for an experienced Senior Science Technician to join our successful Science Faculty.
We are seeking to appoint an experienced Senior Science technician to join our Science Faculty. The role will involve the preparation and maintenance of stock and apparatus for lessons and experiments, the provision of technical help and support to teachers and students, as well as the line management of a Science Technician. You will also be responsible for stock control and replenishment of materials, equipment, apparatus, software and chemicals, and for generally ensuring that teachers and students have everything they require so that students are equipped to make rapid and sustained progress in their learning. In addition, you will have responsibility for the supervision, secure safekeeping and preventative maintenance of laboratory equipment, adhering to health and safety standards. This position would involve working across KS3, KS4 and KS5 including GCSE, A level and BTEC A level classes, covering all science disciplines.

Science is a highly regarded subject within the school: science results have significantly improved and there is a real buzz of enthusiasm throughout the faculty. The Science Faculty is a highly motivated team striving for excellence, with high expectations of both pupils and staff. GCA is a successful STEM school and the Science Faculty drive forward innovative teaching practices, placing high value on practical work. A range of well attended extra-curricular activities for students at lunchtime and after school - for example our KS3 science club and KS4 raising achievement sessions - are offered.
The Science Faculty comprises Biology, Chemistry and Physics; it has a suite of ten modern, large and well-equipped purpose-built laboratories housing a team of thirteen Science teachers and two technicians.
