Job Title: Senior Scientist, Immuno-Oncology
Job Summary: We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Scientist to join the Immuno-Oncology team of an exciting early-stage biotech. The successful candidate will play a key role in developing novel immunotherapies for cancer treatment, leading research projects from concept to preclinical development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and execute complex experiments to evaluate immune responses in cancer models.
- Lead research projects focused on developing innovative immunotherapy approaches Analyse and interpret complex data sets, and present findings to internal and external stakeholders.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including bioinformatics, translational research, and clinical development.
- Stay current with scientific literature and emerging technologies in immuno-oncology.
- Mentor junior scientists and contribute to the scientific strategy of the department.
- Author scientific publications and contribute to patent applications.
- Participate in the preparation of regulatory documents and investigational new drug (IND) applications.
Qualifications:
- Ph.D. in Immunology, Cancer Biology, or a related field with 5+ years of post-doctoral experience in immuno-oncology research.
- Extensive knowledge of tumour immunology and experience with in vitro and in vivo models of cancer.
- Expertise in immunological techniques such as flow cytometry, ELISA, ELISpot, and cell-based assays.
- Experience with primary human immune cell isolation, culture, and functional assays.
- Proficiency in data analysis and statistical methods.
- Strong publication record in peer-reviewed journals.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Industry experience in immuno-oncology drug discovery or development.
- Familiarity with CAR-T, TCR-T, or other cell therapy approaches.
- Experience with high-throughput screening and/or antibody engineering.
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements for biologics development.
