Senior Scientist/Technical Specialist - Special Projects

Our client is an internationally recognised Independent Global Chemical Testing Laboratory and Consultancy, they are offering an exciting opportunity for a Senior Scientist/Technical Specialist to join a dedicated team in Livingston, Scotland.
About the Role:
As a Senior Scientist/Technical Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in our clients Special Projects department, engaging in routine testing and applied research for the oil, gas & energy industry. This position entails active involvement in cutting-edge R&D initiatives for clients on a 1:1 basis and as part of major joint-industry projects.
Key Responsibilities:
Testing in High Temperature/High Pressure flow rigs Designing and implementing new test protocols relating to routine and R+D activities Following test processes, plotting and interpreting data and reportingCustomer liaison including technical updates, reporting and presentation of results Project managementDay to day management and supervision of scientists working on the projectsOpportunities to support in the publishing of technical papers
Working Patterns and Benefits:
They offer a variety of working patterns upon completion of probation, including a compressed week and 9-day fortnight. Additionally, there are opportunities for travel and secondments to international laboratories.
The ideal candidate:
Essential skills/experience
Minimum of an honours degree in Chemistry, Geochemistry or a related disciplineExperience of working in a laboratorySelf-managementExcellent interpersonal skills Project management and staff supervision
Desirable skills/experience
Practical experience in an industrial settingBackground in laboratory aspects associated with oilfield chemistry/geology and/or R&D activitiesWorking knowledge of ISO 9001
