Job description
We now have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Security Operations Manager to join our Technology Group (TG). The role will be responsible for the monitoring of technical security controls on behalf of the CISO. The Security Operations Team are the front line of SLC’s cyber defences and require a leader who is equally comfortable in both technical security discussions and executive briefings.
The post holder will be responsible for the operation of SLC’s front line threat intelligence, security monitoring and incident response capabilities. A key position in ensuring SLC maintains a robust security posture and effective response to security threats, the Senior Security Operations Manager will also work closely with key supplier partners to ensure control effectiveness and continuous improvement of security platforms and services.
SLC offer a Blend working model which will typically be 2 days in the office and 3 days from home.

What you bring
- Deep understanding of technical security controls requirements and emerging security trends.
- Excellent communications skills, both written and oral, with experience in translating technical security issues to senior audiences
- Demonstrable budget management and resource planning knowledge and experience
- Strong people management skills and the ability to positively energize and motivate individuals across multi-disciplinary and matrix teams.
- Hiring, developing, and retaining cyber security talent
- Ability to act and react as necessary in an ambiguous and changing environment.
- Experience of implementing security detection and response controls within cloud (AWS, MS Azure) environments.
- Track record of operating key security controls and processes in a highly complex or regulated environment.
- Experienced in building and leading Security Operations teams.
- Cyber security principles, best practises, and IT security controls
- Professional security qualifications are desirable (e.g. CISSP, CCSP, CISA, CEH)
Key Responsibilities
- Leading SLC’s SecOps function, comprised of CSIRT, TVM, Data Security & IAM
- Owning and developing the SecOps strategy and managing associated strategic vendor relationships.
- Continuous enhancement of security controls through tool selection, process improvement and automation.
- Leading the transition from the existing and established Vulnerability Management Programme to Threat Exposure Management.
- Experience of implementing security detection and response controls within our multi-cloud environments.
- Maintenance and continuous development of KPI’s and KRI’s to support management reporting.
