You will also have experience of care planning, assessments and reviews for young people.
You will be part of the management team within the young person’s houses and will supervise and support care staff. Experience of supervising and managing staff is desirable but not essential. You will have experience of working with other agencies and effectively in a team.
You will have good communication skills, both verbal and written, the ability to undertake CALM procedures and Moving and Handling procedures. You will show confidence in decision making and be self-reliant.
You will have knowledge of the needs of young people and understanding of the emotional practical and Social Care needs of young people.
You must be able to work a three shift system including waking nights and must be able to work evenings and up to 31 weekends per year.
You will have ability to be registered with the Scottish Social Services Council within a specified timescale.
This post is considered Regulated Work with Children and/or Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme, or undergo a PVG Scheme update check, prior to a formal offer of employment being made by Dundee City Council.
